For sale is my beautiful and well loved 1977 Aston Martin V8.
I bought the car in 2006 and at the time had a pretty much unlimited budget for getting the car how I wanted it. I had the suspension, exhaust etc converted to the Vantage spec as well as certain items on the engine. The car is currently for sale with Cheshire Classic Cars and on sale for just under £42,000 http://cheshireclassiccars.co.uk
Driving one of these things is quite an amazing experience. The power and the noise are just incredible, the acceleration is phenomenal and that coupled with the Vantage suspension makes this vehicle a really exciting hardcore vintage sports car. On the open road it's like an Aeroplane without wings. The pull from the V8 is relentless. (You will just so just love it when some company rep in his BMW tries to give you a run for your money!)
Exterior; The basis for the Aston Martin V8 was the earlier six cylinder DBS designed in 1967 by William Towns. The car had leanings in looks towards the American muscle cars of the same era. The shape of the V8 differed from the DBS by having a different front grill. The V8 also featured the distinctive GKN alloys which gave the car a much more modern look. The V8 we have for sale here is pre Oscar India - the OI's have a flip up spoiler on the boot lid and do not have the open air scoop on the bonnet. What I particularly liked about the styling of this car was that it had just enough going on to make it look aggressive and purposeful, but subtle enough to remain very English and upmarket.
When I went to buy this car the dealer had three for sale; a silver, a black, and the green. I had made up my mind before I got there that i was going to buy the silver one. However when I arrived I was so taken by the green that there was no competition. I recommend if you are seriously interested that you firstly use the link to Cheshire Classic Cars website above, then go and see the car in Cheshire for yourself. We have just had a new set of carpets made for the car, the finishing touch to very special car in immaculate condition.
The car has had some interesting owners, notably Jonathan Aitken the disgraced Conservative MP. There is a fairly good history folder with the car, however it is not comprehensive, for reasons I will be happy to explain, should anyone wish to contact me. Certainly I have bills totaling many, many thousands of pounds during my ownership. The car currently is on a sorn but will be sold with a new MOT. Any questions please ask 07774 938214.
