It has just recently been through an mot and drives splendedly with the Aston 3995cc straight six motor holding its correct factory specification oil pressure when hot and responsive through its five speed zf gear box . The body was removed and the steel superleggerra substructure rebuilt to factory standard and replacement sills ,jacking point areas , radius arm arncorages etc all properly attended to and protected with etch primers and 2k stonechip underbody material . The engine bay was restored at the same time . The suspension , brakes and bushes power steering all function properly and in good condition .The clutch gearbox and transmission work well with no noisy bearings or difficulty engaging gears . The paint work is a 2k low bake finish in Royal Blue and shows no sign of corrosion as the car has been garaged and hardly used since recommisioning and is in very good condition . A new solid state fuel pump has been recently installed . The chrome and brightwork are in good condition .Most of the associated rubber seals were replaced in the restoration .A stainless steel exhaust system is fitted . The original interior would benifit from at least a connollise and some carpets retaining its original interior or a retrim to suit the taste of the new custodian .We can offer this as an option . Viewing is essential and we welcome any independent Aston specialist to inspect the car by appointment . Description 1977 R - Aston Martin AMV8 5.4 AUTOMATICBuilt on the 4th February 1977 this Aston Martin left the Factory on the 7th March 1977 finished in Cambridge Blue with Natural Hide and Woburn Sand Carpets. Factory Specification is listed on the Heritage Certificate as : Automatic Gearbox, Door Mirror, Lockable Centre Armrest , Overriders, Weber Carburettors, Pioneer Stereo, Woburn Sand Carpets.In 2007 the vehicle was Stolen and when Recovered was purchased from the Insurers by the recovery company themselves with a broken side window and damaged ignition switch. The Window and switch were replaced and the car has resided in dry storage ever since never being returned to the road.Since purchasing the car we have given her a thorough steam clean to assess current condition and have compression tested the engine to reveal good even compression all round. Being a 1977 production model we suspect it is fitted with the uprated Stage 1 Engine producing 304bhp.The Car is actually in pretty good condition but unfortunately the sills look like they have had their day with holes apparent when viewed from underneath, the drivers side being worse that the passenger side. The bodywork otherwise is in good condition without any signs of corrossion. The interior is in good order and complete, the leather upholstery has been lightly reconnolised but still remains subtle and in good order and if the previous colouring was removed the upholstery would recolour with modern materials to a high standard. The carpets being light in colour are marked and a bit grubby but we would assume these will be replaced as a matter of course anyway. The alloy wheels are in good order with minimal corrossion. With AMV8 Prices on the rise this would make a perfect project for someone with the ability to repair the sills themselves - there are a some step by step guides available on the internet to assist - check out www.aston-v8.co.uk this will give a good idea of what your in for .
