Our car is a 1978 Model finished in Dark Metallic Red and Beige Leather interior. It has Air Con and is an Automatic car. It has been in the same ownership for the past 26 years but has been in storage for a couple of years and will need work to get back on the road. Interior: Our car is finished in Beige leather and the seats are in a superb condition, just a clean and they will be perfect, the carpets will need replacing as the fronts are missing. All the dials and instruments seem to work and it is a wonderful interior. Exterior: Our car is finished in Dark Metallic Red and is fine but showing many little cosmetic blemishes as you would expect from a car that has been sitting. There is micro blistering on the rood and the starting of bubbling under the paint in certain areas of the body. Mechanical: This car has been sitting for a long time so would deed recommissioning before use on the road. We have just £1,000 on new parts including 2 new Brake Servos. The car only failed its MOT on Brake Performance, nothing else, and I have the report to show this. The engine starts and the car droves but there is a tappety noise from the rocker cover which will need further investigation. Also the brakes are not working correctly. It was last taxed in 2010. Summary: This is a great model, in a great colour scheme at a very attractive price. If there is a cheaper one available, we couldn`t find it. WIth one owner for the last 26 years he was obviously very happy with the car. This car is superb in every way. It was sourced and supplied by us to its current owner in March 2009 with just 7k miles on the clock. He has had it maintained regardless of cost at Broughtons Aston Martin and has had the car serviced to schedule and covered by a fully comprehensive warranty, which has just been renewed and is transferrable to the new owner.It was serviced at Harwoods Aston Martin at 4173 miles and 7030 miles. The current owner had it serviced at Broughtons Aston Martin at 15241 miles, 20042 miles and at 25488 miles. It has now covered around 25,900 miles. The tyres have between 4 and 5mm left all round. The discs and pads are good. Everything else is covered by the warranty and currently the car has no faults. | The colour scheme is the best I have ever seen in a Vantage. The Iron Ore interior works very well. Much Less vulgar than a traditional red, the Iron Ore really suits the car and you will love it. | Specification is high too. It has the essential navigation system and electric memory seats as well as 19inch alloys and folding mirrors. It also comes with the battery conditioner. It has just been serviced and is presented in beautiful condition, ready to be enjoyed. | The Prodrive engine enhancement transforms this car. Prodrive, as you realise, have a trading relationship and financial interest in Aston Martin. So, this Prodrive reworked V8 Vantage is a factory upgrade and not an aftermarket remap. Because it is factory fitted at the time of the build, it is not treated by insurers as a modification. Think of it more like a model denotion, like Vanquish and Vanquish "S". The Prodrive re-engineering was done to enhance the driveability of the V8 Vantage and to bring the performance in line with it`s rivals. The difference is huge with no detrimental effect to reliability or running costs. The basics are that you now have 425 bhp, increased torque and a higher rev range. This makes the car much more responsive throughout the power range. The car is more dynamic than the standard car, whether you are pottering along or driving more aggressively.
